 I
guess, fundamentally I wish to share my creative impressions with
anyone and everyone as a means of inspiring and motivating. In the
old days I was able to express myself through a variety of art projects
and interests. From painting to photography, I use to also paint
miniature scenes on egg-shells and also draw on plywood using an
ordinary ball-point pen and then lacquering to give the art-work
some richness. With the advent of computers and more refined graphic
programs it became easier, economical and practical to use these
new methods of expressing oneself. Although one is using a different
medium to create images the principles remain the same. An eye for
colour and imaginative use of shapes and perspective are still as
important as when one uses "conventional" art materials.
Although
using the many graphic applications available has somewhat made
producing images easier but it has also provided me with different
challenges. With this in mind I tended to spend more time experimenting
with creating images for friends and family. With time I moved onto
producing banners, logos, newsletters, flyers, etc for community
groups and local charities.
One
thing that motivated me was launching my own website a while back
which was great fun to develop and modify and in time I gained even
more experience. Visitors to the site inspired me by their comments
and to some point gave me the courage to design and build a few
sites for friends.
 It
is very satisfying to share my artistic attempts and rise to the
challenges of creating personal works for individuals. The internet
has opened a whole new world. Virtually everyone has access to web-space
and everyone wants to share something of themselves. I rely on the
wisdom of those who have the technical skills to advise and assist
me when the PC occasionally “plays up”. Likewise I feel
I can offer some of my artistic skills to those who appreciate it.
However,
now the time has come to perhaps make my hobby pay for its self.
With the encouragement from friends and family their gentle and
sometimes not so subtle persuasion has paid of in the creation of
this site. The internet has provided an accessible means to display
ones artistic “wares”. Whether this site acts as a showcase
to publicise my work or just as a viewing gallery to entertain net
surfers then I feel perfectly justifiable in displaying samples
of what I do.
In
